How to track your company's formation
Sign in and open Home. It shows four tracks with a date on each finished step, puts anything that needs you at the top, and we email you when something needs you.
Home is where you follow your company from order to formed. Sign in and it's the first page you see.
What Home shows
- The header: your company name with "being set up" while it forms, then just the name. Below it: LLC or C-Corp, the state, and the file number once the state filing is checked.
- Needs you or With our team: a block at the top with anything waiting. Your to-dos come first. See What Needs you means, and how to act on it
- Where it is: the four tracks, State filing, Tax ID (EIN), Signature form and Registered agent. Each step shows its date once it's done. See What the four tracks on Home mean
Once the state filing is done, the section is called Finishing up, and links to Company and Documents appear.
The three stages
- Being set up: until the state filing is checked done.
- Finishing up: the filing is done, but other tracks are still open.
- Formed: all four tracks are done or not needed. We email you "is formed" with your company name.
Emails while you wait
We email you when your order is placed, when the state filing is done, when your EIN is issued, when your papers are ready, and when your company is formed. Anything you need to act on is always emailed. See How to manage notifications and emails.
If Home looks out of date
You may see "We couldn't reach our formation partner just now, so this shows the last status we saw. Refresh to try again." Refresh the page.
