Where to find your company documents

Every paper for your company lands in Documents, in the app's sidebar.

What you'll find

Your formation papers, in this order:

1. Certificate of formation (LLC) or Certificate of incorporation (C-Corp), issued by the state.
2. Tax ID letter (CP-575), issued by the IRS. It confirms your EIN.
3. Operating agreement (LLC) or Bylaws (C-Corp), prepared by our formation partner. It is a standard template for you to review and adopt.
4. Payment receipt, our receipt for your order.

Later, Documents also holds scans of official mail sent to your registered agent, and papers you upload yourself.

Find a paper

1. Select Documents in the sidebar.
2. Use the tabs to filter by group: Incorporation, Tax ID, Filings, Ownership or Other. All shows everything. Tabs appear once you have papers in more than one group.
3. Once you have enough papers, a search box appears.
4. Open a paper to preview it, see where it came from, and download it.

To download everything at once, select Download all. You get a .zip file of every listed paper.

For teammates

Teammates can open the certificate, the operating agreement or bylaws, and the receipt. Only the account owner can open the tax ID letter, signed forms, mail and other papers.

We email the account owner "Your company papers are ready" when the certificate, the tax ID letter and the governing document are all in Documents.
